Mumford And Sons - Mumford and Sons glad to be home for BRITs

Mumford and Sons were glad to be back on British soil for the BRIT Awards last night (20.02.13).

'The Cave' band won Best British Group at the ceremony - held at London's The O2 venue - and said it felt great to get such recognition in their home country after spending so long in the US.

Singer Marcus Mumford said: ''We've toured America a lot, especially the last couple of years, which has made us homesick at times. Doing our UK tour last December was a great reminder of why we love touring the UK so much.

''We'll never forget the fact that we're British, and although a lot of our activity is based over in the US... We are just happy to be back here now and here tonight, this is more important.''

The group - which also includes Ben Lovett, 'Country' Winston Marshall and Ted Dwane - performed 'I Will Wait' at the awards, and were also impressed by some of the other acts on the night.

Winston said: ''Ben Howard was amazing. He sounded unbelievable, and we were in our dressing room so we didn't even see it in the room. Also Justin Timberlake was unbelievable, Muse were amazing as well.

''It made sense to me that Coldplay won Best British Live Act as well, because they've played so much live and they put so much into their live thing. We really respect the other groups who were involved.''
