Move Over! Can A Cycling Movie Oust 'The Expendables 2' From Box Office No.1?

'The Expendables 2' is looking to remain at No.1 on the box-office this weekend, though it faces stiff competition from a movie about, well, cycling. Industry experts expect Joseph Gordon-levitt's thriller 'Premium Rush' to push the all-action romp all the way, though Sylvester Stallone and company may just have too much muscle.

'The Expendables 2' made $28.7 million when it opened last week, and Jeff Bock, a box-office analyst told MTV News that he expects a drop of around 50 per cent, saying, "That will leave it with around $14 million, which should be enough to muscle up to the top spot, especially considering the summer box office has already started to wave the white flag of surrender". IMDB's Keith Simanton put that number at closer to $12 million, which could see 'Premium Rush' sneak the top spot. The new movie - which has received rave reviews from critics - follows Gordon-Levitt's character Wilee, a Manhattan bike messenger who picks up an envelope that attracts the interest of a dirty cop, who pursues the cyclist throughout the city. A solid showing at the box-office would cap an excellent year for Gordon-Levitt who is quickly establishing himself as a Hollywood leading man. A recent supporting turn in 'The Dark Knight Rises' did nothing to harm his career.

Elsewhere at the box office, the Bradley Cooper romantic comedy 'Hit and Run' has a shot at the top spot, while stop-motion animation 'ParaNorman' could improve on last week's debut.
