MATRIX heroine Carrie-Anne Moss has signed a deal to star opposite TOM CRUISE in upcoming sequel MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE 3.

The Australian actress, 36, who shot to fame as TRINITY in the KEANU REEVES-starring sci-fi trilogy, will taken on the leading female role in the project, which is being directed by Joe Carnahan.

Cruise - who is also serving as a producer on the film - has already started scouting for filming locations in Berlin, Germany and Ghana.

Production is set to begin later this year (04). PULP FICTION star VING RHAMES has also committed to the project.
