Morello Thrills Protesters In London

Rage Against The Machine guitarist Tom Morello gave Occupy London protesters a boost on Wednesday (09Nov11) by playing an acoustic set outside St Paul's Cathedral.

The rocker threw his support behind the demonstration against corporate greed by playing for campaigners who have set up camp around the famed London landmark.

He played a three-song set and declared his backing for the cause, telling the crowd, "The people that own and control this world don't deserve to. I have a message for them, the beginning is near. History isn't made by Cia men running dope or by old men. It is made by people."

Veteran musician Billy Bragg also played at the Occupy London camp on Wednesday and revealed he felt "greatly encouraged" by the worldwide movement.

He tells NME.com, "I was really impressed by the turnout and I was keen to see what was going in the camp (sic)... I think, after the riots (across England in the summer), we've found out that you can't change the world by smashing shop windows. But I think with the peaceful vibe here, people are starting to see past the previous stuff and actually hear the message."
