Moore's Health Plea To Arnie

Michael Moore is trying to recruit the Terminator in his campaign to achieve better health care in the US.

At a rally ahead of the release of his new health care documentary the controversial filmmaker urged actor-turned Californian governor Arnold Schwarzenegger to help citizens in the state access the type of care that provided the Austrian born star with the "fine body" he brought to America.

"I would like Governor Schwarzenegger to say that he wants the citizens of California to have the same, fine, universal health coverage he got as a young man in the country of Austria," said Moore, speaking from the steps of Los Angeles' city hall.

The director's plea came as he prepares for the release of his new film Sicko on Friday.

In his latest project Moore launches a further attack on US officials, slamming the absence of universal health care and telling the stories of Americans with health problems who have suffered financial hardship as a result of insurers refusing to pay their medical bills.

However critics have already warned that Sicko is unlikely to have as big an impact on the public as his 2004 film Fahrenheit 9/11, which attacked US president George Bush over the September 11th terrorist attacks.

According to reports Moore has even been sidelined by US chat show host Larry King, who reportedly axed a planned interview with the director tonight in favour of a slot with newly released ex-con Paris Hilton.
