Moonrise Kingdom Trailer Marks The Return Of Wes Anderson
The trailer for Moonrise Kingdom - the forthcoming movie by celebrated writer and director Wes Anderson - hit the web on Thursday (January 12, 2012), whetting the appetite of fans who have waited almost three years for the comedy.
Boasting an all-star cast including Bruce Willis, Bill Murray, Tilda Swinton and Ed Norton, the movie follows two young lovers who run away together, leaving the hapless adults of their local town in a panic to find them. The trailer, awash with Anderson's inimitable style, mainly focuses on the two children, played by Jared Gilman and Kara Hayward as they take off on their mini-adventure. This leaves their parents, Murray and Frances Mcdormand teaming up with the local scout leader, played by Norton, and the local sheriff, played by Willis, frantically attempting to track them down. It's clear that the quirkiness often associated with Anderson's previous movies, The Fantastic Mr Fox and The Darjeeling Limited will again be on show in Moonrise Kingdom. The movie, thought to have been filmed on a modest budget, has been co-written by Anderson and Roman Coppola, the son of Godfather director Francis Ford Coppola. Filming took place in Rhode Island between April and June 2011, and the movie is scheduled to hit screens on May 25, 2012.
Wes Anderson's last effort, The Fantastic Mr Fox, was nominated for an Oscar in 2010 for Best Animated Feature Film, eventually losing out to the Disney/Pixar smash hit, Up.
