Mom Sues Justin Bieber For $9.2million For Hearing Loss
Justin Bieber is being sued for $9.2 million by an Oregon-based mother who alleges that she suffered permanent hearing loss following a concert held at the Rose Quarter in Portland.
The concert in question, which took place two years ago on July 14, 2010, involved Bieber being carted above the crowd in a "heart-shaped aluminium/steel gondola," TMZ reports. According to the lawsuit filed by the the woman, Stacy Wilson Betts of Wilsonville, Oregon, the gondola "acted as a sound conductor, creating a sound blast that permanently damaged both my ears."
Betts states that she now suffers from tinnitus and also complains of other hearing-related damage as a result of event that took place at the concert. She's suing Bieber, his record label (Island/Def Jam), the concert promoter and the arena, who are represented by Vulcan Sports and Entertainment. The exact amount she is demanding is $9.23 million worth of damages.
According to a report published in the Washington Post, the court documents filed by Betts states that has not been employed since 2005 and has been receiving disability payments.
So far, neither Bieber nor his PR team have commented on the lawsuit.
