Rocker Mitch Ryder escaped serious injury on Friday (01Feb13) when he was involved in a head-on collision with an alleged drunk driver.
The Devil with a Blue Dress On hitmaker and his partner Megan were heading home from a concert in Detroit, Michigan when a pick-up truck reportedly swerved into their lane.
Ryder tells local publication The Detroit News, "I saw the headlights going for us and I had a split second to either drive towards oncoming traffic or towards the ditch."
The other driver, a 21-year-old man who later failed a sobriety test, then slammed into their vehicle, causing all the air bags to deploy in Ryder's car.
The star was uninjured, but his partner was hospitalised with minor injuries. She was discharged on Sunday (03Feb13).
