Stone Roses - Missing Stone Roses Fan Chris Brahney, 22, Found Dead

The Stone Roses fan who went missing after watching the band play the first of their three homecoming Manchester show a week ago on Friday has been found dead a few miles from the site of the show at Heaton Park in the city. Chris Brahney, 22, has been the subject of a sustained appeal that's caught the attention of the internet nationwide, with a website findchrisbrahney.co.uk being set up to try and co-ordinate search efforts.
A severe police search has also been in operation and it was officials who found a body in the Manchester Ship Canal at Salford Quays - some miles from where the gig was held - at 9:30am on Monday morning. Local newspaper the Manchester Evening News have since confirmed that the body is Brahney's with no extra information as yet forthcoming. There are a number of possibilities of how Brahney got there, but none of which are beyond mere speculation.
Just yesterday a note on findchrisbrahney.co.uk had read that a further search today would be taking place, reading "The Ostrich Pub [in Manchester] will continue to coordinate searches in the surrounding area over the next few days. Flyers are available there if you wish to give a few out however they are sparse and may run out rapidly." The news has marred what for the most part was a largely positive comeback for The Stone Roses, who received rave reviews for their first Manchester shows in over 20 years.
