Miss Delaware Teen USA has resigned over an alleged sex tape.
Miss Delaware's sex tape - or should we say ALLEGED sex tape - has rocked this year's beauty pageant, with Melissa King initially denying she appears in the footage though resigning from the competition anyway. Strange that.
According to TMZ.com, the 18-year-old is accused of featuring in an explicit video that surfaced on the internet earlier this week. A representative for the Miss Teen USA pageant released a statement, saying, "I would like to confirm the Miss Delaware Teen USA pageant has received a resignation letter from Miss King's attorney." The gossip website say the model is still denying appearing in the video, though say "the girl in the video looks and sounds EXACTLY like King." In the clip - shot in June 2012 - the girl addresses the camera and confirms she turned 18-years-old in March, which happens to be King's birth month.
She was crowned Miss Delaware Teen USA in November, around four months after the footage was shot. A representative for the pageant say they have reached out to first runner-up Hailey Lawler in order to replace the departing King.
On her Twitter page, Melissa re-tweeted a fan's message that reads, "What matters most is how well you walk through the fire," and another reading, "Bad decisions do NOT make you a bad person. Stop acting like you are all perfect."
