Miss America 2011 Talks Benefits Of Marijuana
After wowing the judges with her blue bikini and turquoise evening gown, Campanella answered confidently in the questions round, especially when quizzed on the subject of marijuana. In answer to a question about the potential legalization of the drug, Miss America said, "I'm not sure if it should be legalized, if it would really affect, with the drug war. I mean, it's abused today, unfortunately, so that's the only reason why I would kind of be a little bit against it, but medically it's OK". Elsewhere during the contest, Alyssa spoke of her love for science, saying, "I like to believe in the big bang theory and, you know, the evolution of humans throughout time". Campanella, formerly 'Miss Los Angeles', also discussed how she had enjoyed the recent Sean Bean historical series 'Game of Thrones', which has just been commissioned for a second series following glowing reviews.
Miss America will now compete in the 'Miss Universe Pageant' scheduled to take place in Sao Paolo, Brazil, on 12th September 2011.
