Miranda Lambert Returns With 'Grungy, Dirty' New Record
The singer enjoyed commercial success with three songs from her third album 'Revolution', most notably, 'The House That Built Me', which won her the Grammy for best female country performance. However, despite also marrying country star Blake Shelton, Lambert looks to have swayed slightly from her acoustic roots, instead choosing to push musical boundaries on new album 'For the Record'. New track 'Fine Tune' demonstrates an altogether new sound, with Miranda explaining, "I've had that song for seven years and finally I got the courage to record it after passing on it the last two albums.I wanted it to sound kind of grungy and dirty, but still cute and fun" . Despite usually writing her own material, 'Fine Tune' was penned by Luke Laird and Natalie Hemby, but Lambert claims the track was too good to turn down, saying, "If when I hear it I go, Why didn't I think of that? then I know it's something I need to pay attention to". She claims to have "begged" for the track 'Mama's Broken Heart', penned by Kacey Musgraves, Brandy Clark and Shane MCAnally, to appear on the album, saying, ".Kacey got signed to a record deal and it was going to be one of her first songs".
The 27-year-old will hit the road for three shows with her group Pistol Annies in December, before kicking off a nationwide tour in 2012, with support from Chris Young and JERROD NIEMANN.
