Miranda Lambert - Miranda Lambert: 'I Won't Be Apologising For Post-grammys Chris Brown Comments'

Outspoken country star Miranda Lambert is refusing to back down from comments she made about Chris Brown after his performance at the Grammy Awards last year (Feb12), insisting she wouldn't have felt "right" if she didn't say something.

The singer was not happy with Grammy bosses' decision to let Brown perform three years after he scrapped an appearance on the awards show following a fight with his girlfriend Rihanna, which left the R&B singer battered and bruised and led to an assault charge against him.

Making her feelings known in a post-show tweet, she wrote, "He beat on a girl... not cool that we act like that didn't happen."

And as she prepares for this year's Grammys, she tells Redbook magazine she won't be apologising for her comments any time soon, adding, "I didn't feel right about not saying something. The loudmouth that I am, I say what I think. I wanted everyone to know that I don't agree with the message it's sending to young women. It's not Ok. At all.

"To be celebrated after doing something like that. I don't think it's right, I never will, and I will stand by what I said till the day that I die."

Lambert was better placed than most celebrities to make the comments she did because her parents ran a refuge for abused women when she was growing up in Texas.
