Mindy Mccready - Mindy Mccready's Kids Taken Into Care So Star Can Grieve Boyfriend08 February 2013
Mindy Mccready's children were removed from her care on Wednesday (06Feb13) to allow the country star "much-needed and deserved" time to grieve for her late boyfriend.
Concerned family members were granted an emergency hearing to address MCCready's ability to care for herself and her two sons, Zander, six, and nine-month-old Zayne, and officials from the Arkansas Division of Children and Family Services subsequently took the boys from the troubled singer's home in Heber Springs.
The intervention came less than a month after the star's partner David Wilson passed away. Initial reports suggested Wilson committed suicide.
Just hours later, a U.S. judge ordered MCCready to commit to a 21-day mental health and alcohol abuse program, where she will deal with her personal problems, and a representative for MCCready has now addressed the drama, confirming the two young boys have been taken into foster care to allow the star to properly recover from her partner's death.
The spokesperson told E! News on Thursday (07Feb13), "As you can imagine, the tragedy of David Wilson's death has been devastating and crippling to Mindy and her entire family. We can confirm Mindy was admitted to an in-patient facility yesterday evening.
"While taking appropriate, much-needed and deserved time to grieve, her sons have been placed in foster homes, where they are comfortable and cared for."
The investigation into Wilson's death remains open while authorities await autopsy results.
MCCready has denied any involvement in the tragedy.
