Miller Mocked With Tavern T-shirt

LATEST: The Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania bar that refused to admit actress SIENNA MILLER without identification is now selling T-shirts about the famous snub. The ALFIE star reportedly ignored doorman DAN KOVACS' request for ID at the entrance and ordered a drink before she was asked to leave. According to Folino's Young's Tavern owner PENNY FOLINO, a fuming Miller stated, "I am Sienna Miller. I am a famous actress!" Doorman Kovacs then retorted, "I'm Dan Kovacs and I'm for real!" The bar has cashed in on the controversy by selling T-shirts on their website saying, "Hey, Sienna!" on the front and "I'm For Real!" on the back. A portion of the money earned from the T-shirts will be donated to a sudden infant death syndrome charity in Pennsylvania. Miller has slammed reports she threw a tantrum after being ejected from the bar saying, "I wholeheartedly refute the allegations that I in any way acted in an inappropriate manner." Meanwhile, Folino stands by her claims, saying, "I can't compete against a famous actress, but I can tell you one thing - I'm not a liar - she is." Last week (ends08OCT06) Miller apologised for referring to Pittsburgh as "s**tsburgh" in an interview with Rolling Stone magazine, claiming her words were taken out of context.

2006 PITTSBURGH CMU GRAD LAUNCHES MYSPACE BOYCOTT OF SIENNA MILLER FILMBrooklyn, NY—“It’s got nothing to do with her recent diss of the ‘burgh,” says Brooklyn-based actor, emerging playwright—and soon-to-be published novelist—FRANK ANTHONY POLITO, of the web group he’s created on the popular MySpace.com. 24-year-old Miller recently made headlines after bad-mouthing Steel Town where she’s currently shooting the film, The Mysteries of Pittsburgh, based on the 1988 Michael Chabon novel. Polito is encouraging fans of his all-time favorite book to join him in boycotting the 2007 release of the film version. (So far, over 200 invites have been sent out and in one week, the group boasts 31 members.) The self-proclaimed #1 fan of The Mysteries of Pittsburgh, Polito received his M.F.A. in Dramatic Writing from Carnegie Mellon University in May 2006. Ecstatic to learn someone was finally bringing the Art Bechstein/Phlox Lombardi/Arthur Lecomte love triangle to the Silver Screen, he discovered something was “very, very wrong” after visiting the film’s official website, http://www.mysteriesofpittsburgh.com.The plot synopsis for the film describes Phlox (Mena Suvari) as Art’s ‘eccentric sometime girlfriend.” Which seemed odd enough. But why isn’t Arthur mentioned, anywhere? The novel’s other main characters, Cleveland Arning (Peter Sarsgaard) and Jane Bellwether (Miller) are all there. So is Art’s gangster father (Nick Nolte.) But what happened to Art’s namesake/boyfriend, Arthur? Enquiring minds wanna know! “Turns out, writer/director Rawson Marshall Thurber (Dodgeball) has taken it upon himself to completely cut the Arthur character from his version of the story,” Polito reports. “Despite claiming he’s a longtime fan of the book.” What’s more shocking is Thurber’s combining elements of (gay) Lecomte with that of motor cycle-riding (hetero) Bad Boy Arning. “I love Peter Sarsgaard,” admits Polito. “But when I saw the part about Cleveland being Art’s bisexual lover, I was like, ‘W-w-what!?’”According to the Internet Movie Database, http://www.imdb.com, in Thurber’s film, “During his first summer after graduating from the University of Pittsburgh, Art Bechstein…falls into a romance with a married couple.” Cleveland and Jane. (Simply boyfriend/girlfriend in the Chabon novel, Jane barely figures in the story.) “I love Jane,” Polito says. “But she’s no Phlox!”Still, the omission of the one truly gay character from this story is the most offensive to Polito, who resides with his long-time partner, actor Craig Bentley, in Park Slope. Anyone wishing to join him in saving the world from The Mysteries of Rawson Marshall Thurber’s Pittsburgh, please visit http://groups.myspace.com/MOPfilm or contact bechstein@yahoo.com Frank Anthony Polito is the author of the novel, Band Fags! http://www.bandfags.net, to be published by Kensington Books in May 2008. http://www.kensingtonbooks.com
