Some were complimentary of the style - which is similar to that once rocked by Carey Mulligan - though most were just shocked. The backlash actually began before Miley's stylist even touched her hair, telling her followers, "If you don't have something nice to say don't say anything at all. my hair is attached to my head no one else's and it's going bye bye". After posting an image of the new style, the criticism intensified and Cyrus hit back, "my dad billyraycyrus used to tell me opinions are like ass holes everybody has one. Love my hair feel so happy, pretty, and free". Just a couple of hours ago, Miley posted a makeup free shot of herself, though the feedback once again left plenty to be desired. One of Miley Cyrus' Twitter fans simply said "Oh my", while another suggested, "Why Miley?! You had such a cool look before".

It is rumored that the singer could be tying the knot with her fiance Liam Hemsworth pretty soon. Could it be that she has decided to go for the edgy new look for her wedding day? Only time will tell.
