Help For Horses: Miley Cyrus Joins Campaign To End Horse-Drawn Carriages In New York City
Miley Cyrus may have been getting annoyed about the drawbacks of her celebrity status recently, as she has been hounded by allegations regarding the stability of her engagement to Liam Hemsworth. Miley understands, though, that she can use her celebrity power for positive effect as well, so she’s joined a campaign to ban horse-drawn carriages in the city of New York.
Miley joins a host of celebrities, including Alec Baldwin, Lea Michele, Pamela Anderson and Joan Jett in a bid to ban the horse-drawn carriage rides in New York. Miley’s mother, Tish, spoke to The Hollywood Gossip and explained why. "Miley grew up around animals and with all our horses growing up, so she is very passionate about protecting all animals,” said Tish, revealing why her daughter and the rest of the Cyrus clan have decided to lend their weight to the appeal. It seems to be working, too, as Miley’s followers have all backed the campaign: “Miley's fans have been amazing,” Tish revealed. Miley herself was quick to thank her supporters for backing the campaign, tweeting “You all made my mama and all the horses so happy :) my fans really do come in handy.”
Miley recently took a bit of a break from Twitter, after the rumors regarding her relationship got a bit too much to handle. Announcing her temporary departure, she said “I am so sick of La. And sick of the lies that come with it. I didn't call off my wedding. Taking a break from social media. #draining.” She was back and tweeting again two days later.
