Miley Cyrus - Miley Cyrus For 2013 Super Bowl Half-time Show?
As the fall-out from Madonna's polarizing Super Bowl performance continues, attention is beginning to turn to possible candidates for next year's half-time show, with the majority of fans on Twitter suggesting a younger artist could be handed the baton - Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato are among the names being mentioned,
In fact, Miley has been quietly building support for herself, re-tweeting a number of fans who think she is up to the job. One particular supporter who had her message re-tweeted to Miley's 4.7 million followers said, "Miley should either sing the national anthem or perform at halftime next year!". The singer also re-tweeted an article by Billboard.com, which asked, "Madonna's halftime show is in the past. Who Should Perform Next Year?." The articles itself focuses on pop music's resurgence at the Super Bowl, suggesting that the half-time show is once again, "embracing pop music after six straight years of veteran rock acts like Bruce Springsteen, the Rolling Stones and the Who. With pop back in vogue, will Beyonce or Lady Gaga make their Super Bowl debuts?" Among Billboard's other suggestions for the 2013 show are Justin Bieber, Lil Wayne and country singing-sensation Taylor Swift, all of whom would be popular with the Super Bowl crowd.
Miley doesn't appear on Billboard's list, though her inoffensive brand of pop is presumably exactly what the Nfl and Nbc will be looking for after the middle finger salute that Mia gave television cameras on Sunday (February 5, 2012).
