Mike Tyson - Mike Tyson's Tattoo Artist Loses Hangover 2 Lawsuit

Mike Tyson's tattoo artist S. Victor Whitmill, has lost his copyright case against film company Warner Brothers. The artist, who gave former boxer Mike Tyson his 'Maori-inspired' facial tattoo, had attempted to sue the studio for allegedly recreating the piece of art on the face of 'The Hangover 2' actor Ed Helms, reports Entertainment Weekly.
Whitmill had argued that Warner Brothers had illegally reproduced the tattoo on Helms' face as part of a scene in the forthcoming comedy movie. The case had briefly threatened to delay the worldwide release of the highly anticipated sequel. However, the judge dismissed the case in court this morning (24th May 2011). In a statement, the studio said, "We are very gratified by the Court's decision which will allow the highly anticipated film, The Hangover 2, to be released on schedule this week around the world. Plaintiff's failed attempt to enjoin H2 in order to try and extract a massive settlement payment from Warner Bros was highly inappropriate and unwarranted". The studio's president of worldwide marketing Sue Kroll and president of domestic distribution Dan Fellman both testified in court today. Whitmill tattooed Mike Tyson's face back in 2003, copyrighting the work shortly afterwards.
'The Hangover II', starring Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Zach Galifianakis and Mike Tyson is scheduled to hit cinemas on 26th May 2011.

Ummm. He didn't lose. In fact the Judge called Warner Bros. defenses "silly", offered to expedite the trial, and said that Whitmill has a strong case based on the merits. You guys are idiots.
