Mick Jagger And Paul Mccartney Re-enter Charts
Sir Mick Jagger has re-entered the top ten this week, with the WILL.I.AM single T.H.E. (The Hardest Ever). Jagger guest stars on the track, along with On The Floor singer Jennifer Lopez; the track entered the UK Singles Chart at number three. The last time Jagger had a top ten hit was in 1985, when he appeared on the David Bowie cover Dancing in the Street. Jagger told the Official Charts Company, who compiles the charts every week: "We had a great time recording the track and I'm glad that UK music lovers are liking it!"
Jagger isn't the only music legend making a surprise return to the charts. Sir Paul McCartney reached number three in the UK Album Charts with his sixteenth studio album Kisses on the Bottom. It was kept from the top spot by Maverick Sabre'S Lonely Are The Brave at number two and Lana Del Rey'S successful album Born to Die, holding on to the top spot for a second week.
The Official Charts Company has predicted that next week's charts will be dominated by Whitney Houston tracks, in light of her sudden death. The singer, who had a history of drug and alcohol problems, died unexpectedly on February 11th, 2012 and well known tracks such as I Will Always Love You and I Wanna Dance With Somebody will undoubtedly be re-entering the charts.
