Michelle Williams - Michelle Williams On Coping With Heath Ledger's Death, "I Felt Trapped"
Michelle Williams has opened up about the death of her former partner Heath Ledger in a new interview conducted not long before the actress was honoured at the weekend's Golden Globe Awards. Williams triumphed in Los Angeles to win Best Actress In A Musical Or Comedy for her role in the Marilyn Monroe biopic-of-sorts 'My Week With Marilyn,' just reward for an actress whose quietly risen from humble stage beginnings to become one of the most successful Hollywood actresses of recent times.
However, speaking to GQ she spent time reflecting on the death of Ledger, who died this month four years ago and who she starred in 'Broadback Mountain' with as well as fathering her child. "It was making me crazy. I felt like I was going crazy. It was too much-trying to deal with what had happened and trying to deal with what was at our doorstep," she explained in reference to the constant paparazzi attention following the event, adding "I just felt trapped. And it's not just me-there's somebody else who I'm trying to protect, and I can't . It's like you're trying to go about your life, and make dinner...but the roof is off of your house, and the walls are falling down."
Williams also touched upon how he meant to her, mentioning "Our initial meeting, the circumstances of how we first met, were cosmic or something."
