Michelle Williams made 'Oz: The Great and Powerful' for her daughter.

The actress jumped at the chance to star as Glinda, the Good Witch of the South, in Sam Raimi's new movie which tells the tale of the origins of the wizard, from 'The Wizard Of Oz', so that her six-year-old Matilda could watch it.

Admitting she does usually ''gravitate towards relationship films'', Michelle told Total Film magazine: ''I'd been hoping to make something lighter that my daughter could see. It was also the perfect opportunity to work with Sam Raimi, who is a prince.

''Ginda's a young witch who hasn't fully realised her potential. She always puts others' interests before her own, but she struggles to trust herself. She's just understanding what she's capable of.''

Michelle also revealed she is a giggler on set and when she starts laughing, she often can't stop.

She said: ''It's a real problem for me. Once on 'Blue Valentine', Ryan Gosling and I couldn't stop laughing for three hours. In the end we gave up. We couldn't function.''
