Michelle Williams - Michelle Williams Finds Single Motherhood 'Normal'
Michelle Williams says she can't ''imagine'' or ''remember'' what life was like before she gave birth to her daughter - and says ''she makes it work''.
Michelle Williams "can't imagine" not being a mother.
The 'Blue Valentine' actress - who has five-year-old daughter Matilda with her former boyfriend, the late Heath Ledger - no longer has to think about the struggles of juggling work and single parenthood as she has established a routine.
She said: "Five years down the road, it's my new normal. Now I can't imagine, I don't even really remember or would want my life previous.
"You make it work. You keep getting out of bed. Sometimes it's just because you know there's a cup of coffee downstairs."
Michelle, 30, also revealed she hadn't realised how many new friends she would make when she became a mother and admitted she relied on their support when she split from Heath in September 2007, months before he died of an accidental prescription drugs overdose.
She added to USA Today newspaper: "I loved so much becoming a mom and what had been, to me, this invisible community before that sort of rises up and says, 'We're here to help you.' I was so moved by this new kind of community of people. And then when I became a single mother, there was a smaller but equally powerful community that rose up."
