Michael Lohan - Michael Lohan Blasts Dina

Michael Lohan has slammed his ex-wife Dina as a "hypocrite" for alleging he abused her in front of their daughter Lindsay.

The showbiz patriarch is furious over claims made by his former spouse that an attack on her was witnessed by the couple's actress daughter - who is currently receiving treatment at the Betty Ford rehab clinic in California - and has insisted their rows were never serious.

Michael - who has three other children with Dina - told X17online: "I think we all know what her accusations are worth, everything out of her mouth is a lie.

"Of course we had arguments in front of the kids and of course we yelled at each other in front of the kids but not once did the kids ever have to step between us to stop an argument."

However, sources in rehab with Lindsay told gossip website TMZ she repeatedly talks about the allegations, claiming she had to step in and protect her mother.

Michael also blasted Dina for her own abusive behaviour around her family.

He claimed: "She's putting her foot in her mouth and being a hypocrite as usual. Her entire family are drug addicts and alcoholics.

"The whole incident with her hitting my mother in the eye with a phone and giving her six stitches was true, there were witnesses. If Dina wants to speak about abuse, she better look at her own family."

A source close to Dina insisted her former husband's claims are "not true".

Lindsay is due in court on October 22 for a probation hearing, after she failed two drugs tests last month.

The 'Mean Girls' actress - who served 13 days of a 90-day jail term behind bars in July - returned to prison following the failed tests, but ended up spending just a matter of hours behind bars after posting $300,000 bail. She then voluntarily checked into rehab.

The next hearing could see her jailed again for violating the terms of her probation for a 2007 driving under the influence (DUI) conviction.
