Michael Jordan - Michael Jordan Dismisses Paternity Suit Allegations
04 March 2013Sports icon Michael Jordan has asked a U.S. judge to dismiss a paternity suit filed against him by a woman in Georgia, insisting the father of her teenage son has already been identified - and it's not him.
The basketball icon was hit with legal action by Pamela Smith last month (Feb13), amid claims her son Grant was the product of a fling she had with Jordan in 1995. She demanded the retired athlete take a Dna test to prove his paternity and requested child support and medical expenses.
However, Jordan is fighting the accusations and his lawyer filed a motion to dismiss the case on Monday (04Mar13), according to Tmz.com.
A statement released by the retired sportsman's representative reads: "Public records show that the paternity of the child was established in a prior case in this same court many years ago and that Michael Jordan is not the father.
"It is unfortunate that well-known figures are the target of these kind of claims. Michael Jordan will vigorously defend himself and his reputation."
