Michael Jackson - Michael Jacksons Plan Japan Fundraisers In Memory Of Michael
Michael Jackson's family is planning two more tribute shows in honour of the late King of Pop to raise funds for the survivors of Japan's earthquake and tsunami disasters.
Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green, R&B star Ne-Yo and Jackson's sister La Toya were among the performers at Saturday's (08Oct11) Michael Forever - The Tribute Concert, which attracted thousands of fans to Cardiff's Millennium Stadium in Wales.
The Thriller legend's family has now announced plans to stage two gigs in Tokyo in honour of the star, who died in 2009, and raise money for those affected by the disasters in Japan in March (11).
The star's mother, Katherine, says, "If Michael was alive, he would definitely have done something to help the victims of the earthquake in Japan. Michael loved children, he would have felt for those children who lost parents or homes."
Several members of the late star's family will perform at The Michael Jackson Tribute Live concerts in Tokyo to raise funds for Japan's Ashinaga charity, which helps child survivors of the tragedy.
Janet Jackson adds, "This concert can help children. I'm glad I can put (a) smile on their faces again," while her brother Marlon explains, "Music can bring us together. Children can't live without guidance. We want to point our kids to right direction (sic). I'm pleased music can help other people."
The shows will take place on 13 and 14 December (11) and tickets go onsale on Wednesday (12Oct11).
