Michael Jackson - Michael Jackson Insurers Ask Court To Dismiss $17.5 Million Payout

The insurance company bosses who backed promoters at Aeg over Michael Jackson's doomed This Is It concerts have asked a court in Los Angeles to cancel a $17.5 million (£10.9 million) claim against them - because the late King of Pop lied about his health.
Lloyd's of London chiefs are refusing to pay Jackson's estate officials, claiming the pop superstar defrauded them when they signed on as his insurance company and offered him a policy to cover any losses.
In court documents, lawyers for the insurance men allege Jackson and Aeg lied about the star's medical history, and the Thriller singer did not disclose he was taking prescription drugs, including anaesthetic Propofol, prior to his death, according to Tmz.com.
Jackson died from a Propofol overdose in 2009.

Can these reporters and writers stop with the fictional opinions about what Michael Jackson "THIS IS IT" Concert would have been. What proof do you have that "THIS IS IT" was doomed. In life the media trashed his life, and now in his death 2 yrs later you still trash him. Can you write about the good things he has done and what he has done for the world. He did something great with his life, and the no good media has done nothing for life.RIP MJ Faithful Fan to the end

Well I guess so because it WOULD BE ILLEGAL for The Jackson estate to recieve money due to his "death"...He's not dead, that would be insurance fraud, now wouldnt it. This just gets better and better. What a journey!!

I hate to say anything against our beloved MJ, but in the big picture with any and all insurance companies, we all have to devulge accurate health information prior to being given a policy, and therefore, I have to stand on the side of the insurers this time. I know Michael's reasons were for good cause, but a lie, is a lie, and a celebrity but adhere to the same rules of conduct as any other. maybe more, because they have more financial security in the event of having No insurance coverage. I'm sorry, Michael, I love you, but that was a bad decision.

Hang on. I have read that AEG seemed to have complete control over Michael Jackson with a very tight contract, so they may have been acting for him without his say-so. He had to do what he was told or else. And this has come from Tmz who, I believe, are also a bit suspect, so this may not be accurate. Don't believe everything you read in the media, remember. I don't think that Michael would deliberately lie, even under pressure.
