Michael J Fox Will Return To Tv Sitcom After 12 Year Hiatus
NBC bosses have described Michael J Fox as "utterly relatable, optimistic, and in a class by himself." The network's Entertainment Chairman, Robert Greenblatt made a statement to say "I have no doubt that the character he will create - and the vivid family characters surrounding him - will be both instantly recognizable and hilarious. To bring Michael J. Fox back to Nbc is a supreme honour. We are thrilled that one of the great comedic television stars is coming home again." Fox is scheduled to appear in the 22-episode series, which will begin filming this year and will be broadcast in autumn, 2013. The rest of the cast has yet to be announced.
Fox himself has said that he is "extremely pleased" to be working on the show. He told ABC News back in May 2012 that a new drug regimen had aided him in controlling the tics that result from Parkinson's disease.
