Mia Farrow Compiles Photo Montage To Inspire Peace
The Rosemary's Baby star gathered images of struggling men, women and children from her many trips to poverty-stricken and war-torn countries, including Eastern Chad, Uganda, Somalia and Sudan, and used them in an emotional video montage.
The pictures also included snaps of painfully-thin youngsters living through famine, kids who'd lost limbs in war, and chilling images of human skulls in Cambodia and Rwanda.
Farrow directed fans to her short clip, posted on YouTube.com, on Sunday in recognition of the United Nations' charity initiative and wrote, "Personal tribute to refugees on WorldHumanitarianDay... My photos set to JohnLennon's 'Imagine' w (with) permission of @yokoono (Lennon's widow)".
A written message added to the start of the video reads: "I met John Lennon in 1968. His message of peace inspired me to assemble this tribute. I took these photos in places where people are homeless and longing for peace. I hope you will see them as I do."
The touching film ended with a note urging fans to donate to the World Food Programme or the United Nations' Refugee charity.
