Metallica Star Hammett Considered Solo Career
The guitarist admits he could not handle the tension which arose during the recording of the album.
Hammett says he considered quitting the band after recording was halted so frontman James Hetfield could enter rehab.
He explains, Honestly, I was ready to start working on a solo album. I had a bunch of music I was sitting on. I was going to ask Lars (Ulrich) to play drums on it.
