Meryl Streep Gatecrashed Couple's Wedding In Manchester
Talking to the Daily Mail, Freya said: 'It was all very surreal - Meryl Streep was standing there dressed as Margaret Thatcher. It almost feels like it didn't happen. I thought it was amazing, the last thing you expect is an A-List celebrity at your wedding.' The cast and crew had been in the town hall for two days as they believed that it looked similar to the inside of the Houses of Parliament, and when Freya arrived, she was also applauded by both Jim Broadbent and Richard E. Grant. In addition, the couple received not only a card from the cast but two signed pictures from Meryl Streep herself. The couple from Northendon had originally been warned about the filming and were worried, but if anything, it added a spark of glamour to proceedings. Freya added: 'We can't praise the town hall or the film cast and crew enough. They completely respected our wedding.'
'The Iron Lady' will be released in cinemas next year. Meryl Streep will also star alongside Steve Carell in the comedy-drama 'Great Hope Springs', which is not scheduled for release until the end of 2012.
