Meryl Streep 'Feels Like A Kid' After Oscar Win
Meryl Streep feels ''like a kid again'' after winning an Oscar for Best Actress last night (26.02.12).
The 62-year-old star - who picked up the Academy Award for her role as Margaret Thatcher in 'The Iron Lady' - won twice before, most recently 30 years ago, and she admits she is shocked to have be awarded the prize for a third time.
She said: ''I thought I was so old and jaded, but it was just thrilling. It's like I was a kid again. I was a kid when I last won. It was 30 years ago. Two of the nominees were not even conceived!''
However, she admits she was surprised to win because she assumed everyone was fatigued by her many cinema appearances.
Speaking backstage at the awards, she added: ''I understand Steep fatigue. It shocked me it didn't override this tonight. I have everything I've ever dreamed of in my life.''
Despite only making $61 million at the cinema, 'The Iron Lady' has won a multitude of awards - in addition to Meryl winning the Academy Award for Best Actress, she has also won a Golden Globe and a BAFTA.
The film has also won multiple awards for make-up, including an Oscar last night.
