Mercury's Longtime Lover Dies

The longtime lover of late Queen star Freddie Mercury has died, aged 60.

The musician began dating Irish hairdresser Jim Hutton in the early 1980s and their relationship continued until the star's death from bronchial pneumonia resulting from AIDS in 1991.

Hutton, who was diagnosed with the HIV virus in 1990, passed away on New Year's Day (01Jan10) of complications from broncho-pneumonia. He also reportedly suffered from cancer in the last few years of his life.

He was buried in Bennekerry, Ireland on Monday (04Jan10), which would have been his 61st birthday.
