The Little House on the Prairie star and her partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy were ranked bottom of the leader board following their performance on Monday evening (07May12), with just 51 points out of 60.

And American viewers agreed with the judges' scoring and voted for Gilbert, who turned 48 on Tuesday, to leave the show.

After the news was announced, she said, "I can't even describe what a learning and growing experience it's been. It's been a real blessing and a joy. I'm amazed that I even made it this far, and the things that I was able to do and the things that (I was) able to overcome to have been here on this day, does make it a really incredible birthday."

Actor Roshon Fegan was also voted off as part of a double elimination, leaving Welsh singer Katherine Jenkins, American football player Donald Driver, model William Levy and TV presenter Maria Menounos still in the contest.
