Mel Gibson - Mel Gibson Turns Himself In To El Segundo Police
Mel Gibson turned himself into El Segundo Police last night (16th March 2011) for finger printing connected to a misdemeanour battery charge.
Mel Gibson, the American actor who is set to star in the forthcoming Jodie Foster movie 'The Beaver', voluntarily arrived at El Segundo Police Department yesterday for finger printing and document filing, reports the Los Angeles Daily News.The 55-year-old arrived at the station with his lawyer Blair Berk and was released at around 10pm. The charge is connected to a 2010 incident with his ex-girlfriend Oskana Grigorieva. The actor and director pleaded no contest to the misdemeanour charge on Friday (11th March 2011) and was sentenced to three years' probation, he was also ordered to complete a one-year domestic-violence counselling program. Judge Stephanie Sautner also directed him to complete 16 hours of community service and Gibson replied to the sentencing by saying, "I have a good grasp of everything my attorney has discussed with me".
Mel Gibson's arrival at the El Segundo Police Department came on the same night as 'The Beaver' premiered at the Sxsw Festival. In the movie, the actor plays a man who adopts a beaver hand-puppet as his sole means of communicating.
