Australian singer Megan Washington struggles to perform her new material because she wrote the tracks when she was suffering from depression.
The I Believe You Liar hitmaker is preparing to debut her new tour show Insomnia, but she's only playing a limited four-gig run as the lyrics bring back painful memories for her.
Washington admits she was suffering from depression when she wrote the songs in New York, and she's happy to be back on track now.
She tells The Australian, "It's because this music is sad, and when I wrote it I was really sad. When you do a tour you probably have to play your album about 300 times. I'd be f**ked if I'm going to do that.
"It's (depression) something I never thought I'd experience. The songs are about displacement, loneliness, grief and anger, anxiety."
