Meat Loaf - Meat Loaf Fuming Over Aussie Football Show
Meat Loaf has taken aim at bosses of the Australian Football League (Afl) over a recent pre-match performance, branding them "jerks" and vowing to dissuade other artists from singing at future games.
The Bat Out Of Hell rocker took the stage at the Melbourne Cricket Ground to sing at the Afl's grand final game earlier this month (Oct11), but many critics dismissed his performance as shambolic and out of tune.
Meat Loaf has now spoken out to defend his set and has accused Afl bosses of failing to provide a live piano and not giving him enough time for a sound check.
He also claims he could not hear the music in his earpiece, according to the Sunday Herald Sun.
The star has now vowed never to perform for the Afl again, telling the publication, "I'm sorry, they're jerks. I do not like them... And I'll tell you what, anybody that I hear announces that they're going to play for them I'm going to write to that particular artist a letter and tell them not to. And I hope the Afl hears this and I want this everywhere. Because I will go out of my way to tell any artist do not play for them."
