The trio last played together in 1993 as part of the New York Rock and Soul Revue, and now they've joined forces once again for a U.S. tour.
The singers will play hits from their own back catalogues when they hit the road with members of Steely Dan's touring group, and Scaggs admits it wasn't tough getting the guys back together once their schedules lined up.
He tells USA Today, “One phone call is all it took to get me out with these guys. Our audiences like each other... and rhythm and blues from the late ’60s and ’70s is what I cut my teeth on.”
Meanwhile Fagen is keen to bring his decades-old hits to younger audiences, adding: “We don’t want this music to be forgotten."
