Mcdermott Slams Mother-in-law
The wife of late TV titan Aaron Spelling had a strained relationship with her actress daughter before the death of the 90210 creator in 2006, and has even blamed Tori's estrangement from the family as the catalyst that led to the media mogul's demise.
And in July (09), Candy once again reignited the family feud by slamming her daughter and MCDermott for documenting their lives in reality show Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood through an email to celebrity site TMZ.com - accusing the couple of using family issues to create dramatic plots for the series.
Spelling, who has never met her second grandchild Stella, insisted she would not attend a filmed birthday party for the tot as she felt both of Tori and Dean's children were used as "reality show props", and warned the pair that they would "regret" their actions in the future.
But MCDermott is refusing to be drawn into an argument with his estranged mother-in-law, and while denying her claims, he insists Candy Spelling has the right to express her concerns.
He tells TMZ.com, "We don't use our children as props, we take really good care of our children, we love our children... everyone's entitled to their opinion."
