Mccartney's Family Fear Israeli Trip

LATEST: Sir Paul McCartney's family are reportedly fearful of his controversial trip to Israel and are encouraging him to stay in the U.K.

The Beatles legend is due to play a show in Tel Aviv on 25 September (08) - 43 years after a Fab Four concert in the country was scrapped by officials amid fears it could corrupt youngsters.

He will be guarded by Israeli secret service agents at the historic concert to ensure his protection following death threats by Muslim extremists.

But MCCartney's children - Mary, Stella, James and Heather - are said to be "racked with worry" about the trip and do not want him to go.

A source tells British newspaper the Daily Express, "Paul's family knows that he's not the type to back down but that doesn't stop them being extremely worried about him.

"It's his kids who would prefer him not to do they show but they also accept that their dad will do what he believes to be right and won't be scared off."

Paul is like John, he loves too much to bring others peace and happiness, than be threatened by anyone. His music and his fans are his lifeand no one will take that away....anubhavananda dasa

He is to be applauded. When we start letting bullies and phonies terrorize us and force us to change our lives to do what they want, we may as well cease to exist. Fortunately (unfortunate that it's necessary), Israel is so used to threats and attacks, they have perfected the art of Security for individuals like Paul McCartney. Oh, and BTW, it's a myth that Israel thought the Beatles would corrupt it's young people. Actually, the planned visit fell through becuase of a dispute between two Concert Promoters over who would bring them in. A stupid business disagreement.

I know that if I were him I'd have a very hard time going along with this type of terrorist bullying, and I would not want to cancel my trip because of it. I don't think it's as much a matter of ego vs. love as the idea of standing up to tyrannical intimidation.

This is just another sad example of an individual putting ego before Love. Of course Paul should not go to Israel. His "father know's best" attitude is tragic. How much attention does one man need? He has the love of five beautiful children. Perhaps he could put their needs first this time.

Please don't go to Israel, Sir Paul, but if you do, you are in my prayers asking God to be with you and to keep and bring you home safely.Gwyn Kirby
