Mccartney Was Hopeful Of 'Happy Resolution'
LATEST: Sir Paul McCartney was hopeful of a "happy resolution" to his divorce from Heather Mills, before accusations of domestic abuse leaked to press last week (18OCT06)
British newspapers printed alleged court documents in which Mills claims the former beatle attacked her when she was pregnant and, on another occasion, stabbed her in the arm with a broken wine glass
MCCartney was also said to have verbally abused Mills, calling her an "ungrateful bitch", and objected vociferously when the amputee asked to purchase an antique bedpan so she didn't have to crawl to the toilet during the night
However, American publication USA Today insists before the scandal the singer was confident their acrimonious split in May (06) could be resolved
The 64-year-old said, "It's a very difficult time for me But with the support of my friends and family, I'm managing to get through
"I'm just hoping for a happy resolution, particularly for the sake of our beautiful daughter, BEATRICE, and my other children, who are all beautiful Fingers crossed "
