Mccartney Closer To Saving Log Cabin
Veteran rocker SIR PAUL MCCARTNEY has won the first stage of his battle with his local council, after they refused to give him planning permission for a log cabin on his East Sussex, England estate. The former BEATLE, 64, built the secluded hideaway in 2002 and has been trying to secure retrospective permission from Rother District Council this year (06). MCCartney has submitted papers to justify the building, claiming he built the cabin in his Woodlands Farm, Peasmarsh home to maintain his privacy. The council agreed yesterday (17AUG06) to grant MCCartney a temporary reprieve, and have given him until November (06) to submit a revised planning application. If MCCartney's application is torn down, the council could demand the rocker demolishes the lodge.
