Influential 1990s folk-pop band Mazzy Star are set to release their first new track since their acclaimed 1996 album Among My Swan.
The Californian group, fronted by Hope Sandoval, has been on hiatus since the late 1990s but a new single, Common Burn, will be released at Halloween (31Oct11).
Two years ago (09), Sandoval told Rolling Stone magazine, "We're still together. We're almost finished (with the fourth record)."
Mazzy Star became a cult act in the early 1990s thanks to their acclaimed albums She Hangs Brightly and So Tonight That I Might See.
Sandoval has spent the past decade fronting the group Hope Sandoval & the Warm Intentions.
