May Wants Depp To Play Mercury

QUEEN guitarist BRIAN MAY is backing JOHNNY DEPP to play late frontman FREDDIE MERCURY in an upcoming biopic. The surviving members of the band - May, ROGER TAYLOR and JOHN DEACON - are all involved in the project which will tell the life story of the WE WILL ROCK YOU singer, who died of an AIDS-related illness in 1991. May says, "Discussions are at an early stage. Johnny Depp is fantastic. He would be a worthy counterpart for Freddie on screen."

What a fabulous idea! As a big Queen fan and also someone who rates Johnny Depp, I'd love to see this project materialise. Depp could pull it off, I'm sure, with voice dubbing for the singing, using Fred's own voice, if necessary. Go Bri, and get him!
