Brian May has heaped praise on Muse after the rockers' new album RESISTANCE drew comparisons to the hits he wrote for Queen.
Muse were lambasted earlier this year (09) following the release of single United States of Eurasia, with fans noting a remarkable similarity to the legendary band's classic rock sound.
But Queen guitarist May is flattered by the comparison, insisting the group is far more talented than the Bohemian Rhapsody hitmakers.
He tells the BBC, "I love it, I think it's great stuff. I think they're very good boys and extremely talented, and like us they have their tongue in cheek a lot of the time.
"They said they liked us and that we've been an influence, which is obviously nice for someone like me to hear. They are extraordinary musicians... Real virtuosos - much more than I am. I like the way they let their madness show through, always a good thing in an artist."
