Matthews Welcomes Third Child

The Welsh singer and her long-term manager Steve Abbott welcomed their first child together on Monday (23Nov09).

The new arrival, who has not yet been named, joins Glenys Pearl, five, and Johnny Jones, three - Matthews' girl and boy with ex-husband Seth Riddle.

The star was busy working just days before giving birth, co-presenting a BBC Children In Need event at the Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff last Friday (20Nov09).

A message on the star's official website reads, "How happy I am to let you know that our baby boy was born on Monday 23rd. 8 weeks earlier than expected.

"We are doing very well and excited now to share this happy news with you. What an amazing surprise, just after presenting children in need on Friday! Love always, cerys and steve."
