Matthew Mcconaughey - Matthew Mcconaughey Pulls Out Of The Butler

Matthew McConaughey has pulled out of playing the late John F. Kennedy in 'The Butler'.

The 'How To Lose A Guy In Ten Days' actor is no longer in the line to play the former US president in director Lee Daniels' new movie, 'The Butler', despite Daniels hand picking him for the role after working together on 'The Paperboy'.

Matthew told film website 24 Frames.com: '''The Butler', it's not going to happen for me. It was going to take some good hard work on my part for sure - and it was more than an accent. I've done accents before. And you can see you can tell when it's just coming out from the neck up.

''When you see it done well, they walk different, they sit different it's coming out of their feet. There was a lot of work that I was looking forward to putting in on that. But for certain true reasons, it's not going to happen.''

The 42-year-old actor was meant to play JFK opposite Minka Kelly's Jackie Kennedy in the biopic about White House manservant Eugene Allen, which will also star Forest Whitaker and Oprah Winfrey.

'The Paperboy' received a Palme d'Or nomination at the Cannes Film Festival and sees Nicole Kidman urinate on Zac Efron's face in a shocking scene. But Matthew is adamant this isn't the reason he will no longer be working with director Lee Daniels.

He said: ''No. Not at all. I had a wonderful time working with Lee. Lee's become a good friend of mine.''

Scheduling issues could be the reason behind the change of plans, since Matthew is currently working on a script for upcoming film 'Dallas Buyer's Club', which he will also produce.
