Matthew Mcconaughey For Presidential Role

Matthew Mcconaughey is set to star as former US President John F Kennedy in the upcoming movie The Butler, based on the true story of Eugene Allen, who during 50 years of service, worked for eight different White House presidents.

MCConaughey is set to be joined by a host of other stars in the biopic, including Minka Kelly, who will play his wife Jackie Kennedy as well as Jane Fonda as first lady Nancy Reagan and Alan Rickman as former US president Ronald Reagan. John Cusack will feature as former US president Richard Nixon whilst Oprah Winfrey will have a brief role as Allen's wife. Allen himself will be played by the Oscar winning Forest Whitaker, with filming of the star-studded biopic beginning later on in the summer.

Lee Daniel, who directed Precious, is on-board to direct the picture after giving information about the upcoming film whilst promoting his current film The Paperboy at this year's Cannes Film Festival. MCConaughey and Daniels actually worked together on The Paperboy too, with the Tropic Thunder actor taking up a staring role in the film that follows a reporter returning to his Florida hometown to investigate a case involving a death row inmate, played by another future co-worker in the shape of John Cusack.
