Matt Leblanc Returns For More Episodes
Actor Matt LeBlanc looked to be experiencing his best critical turn during the first season of the BBC sitcom 'Episodes,' winning plaudits for his performance in the show as well as a Golden Globe - his first Golden Globe despite being nominated three times when he was in 'Friends.' Now LeBlanc, or Joey Tribiani as he is best known from his time on 'Friends' and the spin-off 'Joey,' is set to reclaim this acclaim as the show returns to our screens on Friday on BBC 2.
In 'Episodes,' he stars as a fictionalised version of himself who is cynical, with a giant ego and manhood to match. Written by one of his 'Friends' creators David Crane as well as Jeffrey Klarik, it sees two successful British sitcom writers, played by Tamsin Greig and Stephen Mangan, see their own show get picked up by Hollywood executives and sprinkled with heaps of Americanisation and LeBlanc taking on the staring role.
LeBlanc has recently been in the UK promoting the new series, as well as bluntly discussing the highs of 'Friends' and the lows of 'Joey.' He spoke candidly to The Guardian about taking on a role as himself, saying he was "very sceptical and uncomfortable with the idea of playing myself." However, for those unfamiliar with the show, it is very much a character made for LeBlanc and not a reflection of himself.
