Matt Bomer - Matt Bomer Is Gay: White Collar Star Comes Out
Matt Bomer, star of the US show 'White Collar,' has come out as gay, the actor doing so quietly whilst speaking at the Steve Chase Humanitarian Awards on Saturday, February 11th. Having starred in 'White Collar' since the show began in 2009, it's become the program that Bomer's best known for - the star also appearing in Cbs' 'Guiding Light' between 2001 and 2003 and 'Tru Calling' on Fox between 2003 and 2004; guest credits have included cameo's on hit musical drama 'Glee.'
People Magazine reports that Bomer was at the Humanitarian Awards at the weekend to pick up the New Generation Arts and Activism Award, having been a noted activist in the campaign against Hiv/Aids , and it was during his acceptance speech that he elected to come out, paying tribute to his partner Simon Halls and their three adopted children. "I'd really especially like to thank my beautiful family: Simon, Kit, Walker, Henry," said Bomer, adding "Thank you for teaching me what unconditional love is. You will always be my proudest accomplishment."
Back in 2010 Bomer had played down any heresy about his sexuality, commenting "I don't care about [rumors] at all. I'm completely happy and fulfilled in my personal life." 'White Collar' is now just two weeks from its third season finale on February 28th 2012, with the series already having been renewed for a fourth last August.
